My favorite parts of this photo include the intensity of the light, a beautiful reflection of sun backlighting the the perfect wave. A closer look at the white breaking waves against a beautiful horizon makes it hard to believe you are looking at a boat hull. Photos like this brings me back to my central question, How can this be? An artist looked carefully at this piece during a recent art show and commented that my brush strokes were perfect. He said they were the best brush strokes he had ever seen. I explained it was a photo and not a painting. He was speechless, unable to accept the fact it was a photo and not a painting. . He said he couldn’t believe it was not a painting.
