Description
This boat hull photo was taken at one of Falmouth’s most beautiful ponds, coincidentally named Green Pond. I was on my boat when I saw the beautiful green patterns of the rippling water defining the emerald hull of this sailboat as it floated on its mooring. In the background you see the hull with its green and brown horizontal stain looking as majestic and real as the pond itself. If you were on Green Pond around sunset you could look Southwest and see this same colors reflected in the sky and sunset. If you are lucky enough to be on Green Pond simply look south and you will see Martha’s Vineyard Island, only five miles away.
What do you see? Let me know. Here is another example where hull stains magically reflect the visual properties of the boat’s location. It is as if the boat took a picture of its horizon and painted it on its own hull.
Let me know what you think.
